Why ±0.05 mm Tolerance Matters in 2.6 mm Fuse Beads

Small beads, tight margins

A 2.6 mm bead leaves very little room for error. If diameter or height drifts, beads sit at slightly different heights on the pegboard, and the iron has to work harder to bring them together.

What we measure

Every production run is checked for diameter (2.6 mm), height (3.0 mm) and tolerance (± 0.05 mm). We also look at hole clearance and surface finish, because a burr on the edge is enough to stop two beads from sitting flush.

Why it shows up in the finished piece

Under-fused projects lift at the corners, show gaps between beads, or fail to hold together after a day of handling. Most of those problems come back to bead consistency, not to the person holding the iron.

What to ask your supplier

Ask for the tolerance range in writing, plus a fused sample. If a supplier cannot tell you the tolerance, the number on the colour card is only a label.
